I am a professional musician and I do teach music actually. Swing and a miss.
I felt Metric was terrible. So did most of my section and those around me, judging from the comments I heard and the general lack of people getting excited and out of their seats.
That's fine that you liked them - different strokes for different folks. Even the worst band out there has some fans....just like the Ottawa Senators still have some fans.
My general issue here is how the Metric apologists feel the need to ridicule others who don't share their indie music tastes. Because at the end of the day that's all it is - a personal taste.
