How are they even remotely "emo-ish". Most of their songs are upbeat. They have a few slow songs, but so do a lot of bands.
I can buy that some people hadn't heard of them or heard their music. There are many top 40 groups that I have probably never heard of because I don't listen to those stations, don't watch Much Music or go to nightclubs. I also don't pretend that the music I like is superior.
I just hate the whole, "well, I never heard of them, so they must suck" attitude. Or, "they are an independent band, therefore they must be emo and their fans are snobby". Newsflash, almost all musicians start off as independent (the only exceptions are guys like Justin Bieber).
