I hate any modern band that describes itself as Indie or New Wave. It's nothing more than a generic label for lifestyle and image that gets thrown around to make bands sound cooler than they really are. It says nothing about the quality of the music. Just because you are "Indie" or "New Wave" does not mean your music is as good as the Pixies or Pavement or as influential as the early B52's.

This has to be one of the most boring and uninspired bands I've ever heard. If this band actually gets anyone excited about music then that is a terrible indictment of just how bad the music industry has become since the digital era.

As far as being right for this event, as much as I hate Nickleback, I think they would be a much a better fit than some boring "Indie" band. At least Nickleback fits the demographic of a hockey game in a big stadium and they may actually try to entertain the crowd.
