I've heard that too. Not sure.

Again back in High School ( I said about 10 years ago before, but it's really 15+. sigh really dating myself) I got asked to be a shooter for the Trevor Kidd Goalie School, at the Family Leisure Centre (Trico Centre)
This was around the time, that Kidd was on his decline in Calgary, yet I was still somewhat a fan. My brother was a goalie at this school too, and idolized Trevor. Goalies have this weird afficionado with equipment, so all the kids yearned to try on Trevor's catcher, or check our his helmet. Trevor though was always so anal with his gear (Luongitis), so only one or two goalies would get to check it out (under Trevor's close-watch), as part of a reward for their performance that day.

Anyway, that's to give a bit of background into Trevor's personality. I noticed as the day's went on, that he was pretty laisez fairre with us shooters, until we had a guest shooter a couple days into one of the hockey school weeks. The young guy, had a learning disability of some sort, and it was quite apparent from a distance even. He was brought in as a sort of "Big Brothers/ Make-a-Wish" type deal, and really it wasn't a big deal to us shooters, as we tried to put him in a place that he could be a passer, or would fetch missed/saved shots. He was also a big Kidd fan.

There's 6 nets/stations (4 in the neutral zone with a sole shooter), and our net is one of the two end zones, where we there's 3-4 shooters. The goalie is to follow the puck, to help with their t-pushes, positioning, angles and finally to stop the shot. Generally pass it 2 or 3 times, before testing the goalie.

Anyway, Trevor comes over to our station, and the young fella with the learning disability, somehow got mixed up with teh original shooter, when they were retrieving pucks. So the original guy is now the retriever (4th - sort of behind the net). The remaining 3 of us, are positioned with myself in high slot, flanked by the other two on the face-off dots. So the drill starts, and this kid misses a pass to me. Grab another puck, I pass it to the kid, and he tries to shoot, and cant get the puck off the ice, with his shot.

Trevor after seeing this, yells across the rink to one of the head instructors, "Hey ___, you couldn't find me a shooter, that could raise the puck?" The kid hears this, and looks really upset, and skates off the ice to his mom. There they proceed to take off his skates in plain view & leave the rink.

Never heard of Trevor ever reconciling with him. I bet he got a new favourite goalie.
