This happened to a buddy of mine which I thought was pretty funny.

My buddy when he lived in Calgary around 2000, 2001, worked at Safeway in Kennsington. He was working the till and this guy comes up... he helps him, talks to him, all the while people are gathering, the phone is ringing and he just ended up taking it off the hook so he could continue to help this player... he talks to him, and he has no idea who this guy is... he's never watched hockey before, at the time knew nothing about hockey... although, now he cheers for the Canucks just to rile me up... but he ended up having a non fan type of conversation... but he was oblivious to who this person was, all the while my friend was helping him he had a smile on his face... my friend then asked him, "are you someone special"... he laughed and politely said "I play for the Calgary Flames", and then he asked, "you really don't know who I am"... he was honest and said "no, I knew you must be an athlete by the size of your quads I was guessing a track star"... He laughed and went on his way and actually thanked my friend for the nice conversation.

After he left everyone ran up to my friend, all excited... you just helped Jarome Iginla.

The coolest thing, and it speaks to Iggy's character. Iginla came back about 2 hours later and gave him 2 tickets to that nights game... told him that maybe it's time he sees a hockey game.

To this day, my friend says he is the nicest guy he has ever met.

So he knows nothing about hockey, Iggy gives him free tickets and he is now a canucks fan? What a dick.
