Really OT but since we're sharing stories.
I worked at a liquor store quite a few years ago. One day a guy came in during the spring/early summer.
He was wearing a Team Canada ring that was absolutely glorious. I started to inquire about it and he said he'd just got it and that's why he was wearing it.
Turns out he was a trainer or something and his ring was from the WJHC during the lockout year. He said even Crosby and those guys hadn't gotten their rings yet.
He proceeds to hand it to me and tells me to try it on.
I swear to god it took every rational bone in my body (not very many of them) to keep me from just turning around and running out the back door and never returning. It looked just like a SC ring but had the hockey Canada symbol with the score on the one side.
I had to awkwardly hand it back after about 20s. It was like out of a movie where he had to kind of force it off my hand because I really didn't want to give it up. haha.
