I agree with what he's saying for the most part, the Grammy's does a poor job of staying in touch with what the majority of people are into. It may be crap, but if they're trying to stay relevant to their audience they need to do a better job of that or accept a diminshing audience.

How does it do a poor job of that? Most of the acts and nominations are top 40 artists, are they not? If anything its too mainstream. I read an article in the Guardian about the majority of their awards in the rap category have gone to Eminem and Kanye West in recent years. That's 2 major mainstream artists. 2 artists consistently getting the awards out of so many other artists that are making music in the rap/hip hop category. They aren't exactly going off the board with their selections.
Honestly if the Grammy's are too out there for you your really need to broaden your horizons beyond MuchMusic's top 5 videos -- if they even play videos anymore.
