I'm sure there are thousands of accidents per year because of people not paying attention because they're talking to a fellow passenger or looking out the window at something.
But for some reason people have chosen to target cell phones, instead of safe all-around driving habits.
It is no different that lighting a smoke, changing radio stations, changing CDs and a million other things people do when driving. Now some of those things take 2seconds while a convo probably lasts 30s at minimum and probably lasts quite a bit longer on average.
