Reminds me of when I was a kid. We got new bikes at 7 and 12. It was the family rule. I got my new bike at 7 and left it behind my dads car in the driveway. He noticed it the first time, moved it and warned me that if something happens to it that is my fault I;d be walking for 5 years. The talk sunk in for about a week or so and I left it behind the car once again. Dad didn't see it and destroyed the bike.
I walked for the next almost 5 years while my friends rode bikes. I also had to pay for some minor damages to the car out of my allowance. Let me tell you, when I got my bike at 12 I treated it very well indeed. I still treat my things well. Hard lesson to learn but a damn good one.

Lol. That's pretty harsh. A five year punishment during prime bike years? When I was 7-12 I practically lived on my bike.
