Does the car have speed rated tires ? This should be a serious consideration before you do a speed test ! Tires do come apart from speed.
My car is governed @ 192 kph, (120 mph) the thing was pulling so hard at 192, it felt like the brakes were suddenly applied
My truck ? I don't trust the 35" tires enough to find out. Good Yokohama tires, but still...
Fun fact:
With the tall gear ratios my truck has, 120 kph=1750rpm and red line @ 5600 rpm, it would have to do about 385kph to red line the engine.
