So I've now seen all ten movies in the Best Picture category and Black Swan, Inception, and The Fighter are still my three favs.
I really enjoyed the last three I hadn't seen, Winter's Bone, The Kids Are Alright, and The King's Speech, but none of those films had best picture feel to them to be honest.
The King's Speech was an interesting and neat story, but it was mostly fluff as people have said. That doesn't take away from what a great job both Geoffry Rush and Colin Firth did.
The Kids Are Alright was a movie I was surprised by how much I liked it.. but the predictable love triangle just annoyed the piss out of me, they really should have/could have avoided that and made it a much better film. Mia Wasikowska was the best actor or actress in this film, better then Annette Bening who was nominated for an Oscar from this. Mia is a fantastic little actress I hope she gets more exposure soon.
Winter's Bone was... depressing, but good. It was just a random crazy story, but I enjoyed it. Jennifer Lawernce' Oscar nom is well deserved in it, she was in basically every seen I think and was totally believable throughout.
