I named my retriever Abbey in honour of the Beatles (favourite band). I would go with something that fits into your hobbies or lifestyle as well. That being said if I had gotten a male I probably would've named him Angus. I'll try to think of some hockey related names if I get a chance. Remember to have a very short name that you have no problem yelling out. Anymore than two syllables will be hard for the dog to distinguish. If it's a longer name on paper make sure that it has some shortened form for everyday use. Also I would avoid having a name that sounds similar to any command that you might train .
Anyway have fun with your pup once you get him. My god goldens are an active breed when they're young (mine is just over 6 months right now). . . you're in for the ride of your life. My dog has more energy than batman and superman combined. It is essentially impossible to get her tired. That being said she's been awesome and it's been a ton of fun watching her grow and develop.
I just remembered a friend of mine named his dog Dammit. Worked well consider how well trained the dog was.
