A break from the debate for you guys, I thought i'd post up some of my pictures of Cairo and Tahrir Square (Midan Tahrir) that everyone has been talking about. It's had for me to imagine the place I was standing in 2 months ago is filled with one million people at the moment. When I was there, it was filled with one million cars.

This is what Cairo looked like during the Mubarak era, before the revolt. Good old Cairo!

6th of OctoberBridge, where you saw the videos of thousands of people Pushing back the Police last week.

Looking towards Tahrir

Coming off 6th of
October Bridge

Pretty close to exactly where the Police were defending while the people were coming across the bridge

6th of October looking back over the bridge in the direction the protesters were advancing

The view around
Cairo from the Cairo Tower

Here you can see the bridge

6th of October on the left, Midan Tahrir on the right behind the
Nile Ritz. You can sort of see the green grass roundabout and the construction lot that is surrounded by the blue fence. You can't see the fence in this shot.

Walking like an Egyptian in the street while cars go by at 50kph. The picture does not do justice to what it is like. Anyone who has been to
Cairo can attest.

Also, you can see the red building is the
Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, the one that was looted on the weekend. You can see this blue fence on all the TV images of the square to the left where the construction is.

Center of the Square

A better look of Tahrir from the
Cairo tower - Blue fence and the roundabout grass below the sanyo and mcdonalds signs. That is the spot where the people have chosen to gather.
