I don't think so. It's completely excessive (as is the Torres deal), sure, but he's a very good player with the potential to be world class. He can score any which way you want, he's got pace, he's strong, he can be a lethal finisher. These are all qualities that you need in a good striker. Carroll has them. Torres used to have those qualities too and Carroll cost less than him. I trust Dalglish to know a good striker when he sees one.
