Yeah, global warming denialists usually stick with the sea ice because that's the one that's increasing.
That's an interesting question, why is the ice increasing even though both the air and water temperature are increasing, one would think warmer would lead to less ice. Warmer leads to more precipitation though, that combined with the melting land ice keeps the cold upper layer of the ocean there from mixing as much with the warmer lower layer (salt water is denser than fresh), one contributing factor anyway. That perfectly illustrates that the things are very complex and nothing can be taken by itself.
