(not according to standings cause Dallas was w/o Dirk for quite a few games and went on a spiral downhill)

Spurs are 1 cause of their record, i wasnt quite sure they would do good with tim duncan putting up as little as 5 points in a couple of games early in the season, and george hill is coming up big definitely a candidate for sixth man

Lakers are 2 cause of injury to bynum early in the season and the workload on gasol and odom is just adding up, both men play 4 and 5 and with theo ratliff (back up center) out, doesnt help the lakers, look to watch them go down from here

Mavs are 3 although they are 5th in the standings (as of now), without dirk for a string of games, definitely a candidate for mvp and with caron butler out look for peja stojakovic to make a huge difference for this team with j kidd at point

N.O at 4 even though they have strung together a 9 game win streak, david west is finally playing up to his standards again and chris paul is putting up top 5 pg numbers on a nightly basis, look for the hornets to become 2 or 3 as the lakers continue to struggle.

East: 1 Chicago, 2 Boston, 3 Miami, and 4 Orlando

Chicago = 1 because their playing without noah and boozer is on and off, d rose keeps putting up ridiculous numbers for a 3rd year pg

Boston is 2 b/c of injuries to many players and also fatigue is setting in for their veteran players like shaq, garnett, allen and pierce, but they have so much depth on the bench

Heat are 3 cause of injuries to bosh and wade, with that being said they should be 1 or 2 when they come back

Orlando is 4, they definitely won that trade with the suns, they may have lost gortat but brandon bass has stepped up his game on a large scale
In the West I would have to say that the Nuggets have been playing a lot better lately than the Mavs. I would rank them:

1. Lakers
2. Spurs
3. Hornets
4. Nuggets

In the East, close to yours, just different:

1. Magic
2. Heat
3. Celtics
4. Bulls
