Well, I get anxious going through customs sometimes. Everyone does. It's a normal reaction. If you had outstanding arrest warrants, that's just ridiculous. You could really screw up your life for something that takes very little to fix.
Maybe you get stuck in Mexico, maybe you get detained and arrested by customs in Calgary, maybe you get put in jail and miss work. Maybe you lose your job. Maybe you miss payments, get in debt, lose your house, etc. Something like that snowballs fast for what is a easy fine payment - or just don't go to Mexico and live with transit tickets dogging you for years.
