It's been such an interesting ride with Chuck. Fedak/Schwartz deserve a ton of praise for how they've managed to handle this show. From Season 2 on the show has been on the bubble ever year, the last two getting a back order of episodes halfway through the season which pretty much serve as an audition to be brought back for another year.

They really have not had the luxury of not putting all their cards on the table, season after season. Not to mention the stress and difficulty that must come with writing each finale, with the pressure of such a strong cult following, knowing this could be the way you end the entire series. You can't afford to keep story lines on the burner or not push the pace.

Even during the string of a few week episodes when it was suggested it had jumped shark, it didn't take long for the show to remind me why I like it so much. It's really picked itself up and managed to score it's highest ratings of the season last year. I think without question it could produce a strong season 5 just dealing with more of the Sarah Walk backstory in itself.

I didn't think Chuck would get a third season, or a back 6, then thought there was even less of a chance to secure a 4th season and then get a full season order of episodes. It's always been the underdog, working on a very limited budget in a timeslot up against the other networks best tv shows. It still has the best soundtrack on tv, a female lead that would be bigger then life if she was on a bigger network, amazing guest stars and call backs to the 80's I've yet to see any show do better.
