No. Transit fares only cover a percentage of Calgary Transit's operating costs. Everyone who uses Calgary Transit without paying their fare is ripping off every Calgary taxpayer and/or screwing themselves out of potential service improvements.
If you're using the service, pay your fare. It's $5.50 per day if you pay full fare (and why would you pay full fare?). I pay more than that on gas and maintenance on my car but that doesn't mean I think it's fine to drive off without paying for my gas or drive around without insurance.
Forget handing out tickets, we should move C-Train enforcement to vigilante justice, if you can't show me proof you've paid your fare, I should get to kick your ass for trying to steal from me.
