I watched Social Network for the first time this past week. I thought it was very strong but wasn't blown away by any stretch. After thinking about it for a few days, I think I like it a lot more than I gave it credit for when I finished watching it.
I thought it had a great feel, amazing pace and Sorkin's writing was top notch. The first scene alone showed Sorkin's brilliance and Eisenberg was perfectly cast. Whether or not his potrayal of Zuckerberg was accurate, I don't know but he was perfectly cast for the script that Sorkin wrote.
I got zero issue with Social Network winning Best Drama tonight, and would have no issue with it winnning the Oscar. It's not my favorite movie of the year and it wouldn't have my vote if I was picking a BEst Picture, but I can understand why the Academy would vote it as the winner.
Something tells me based on content alone, The Kids are Alright has a very good shot at winning BP at the Oscars.
