Interesting story about the song is that when recording it, and coming up with the chorus "I want my, I want my MTV" the band realized that it was a direct rip-off of Sting's tune with the chorus "Don't stand so, don't stand so close to me."
So instead of rewrite the chorus, they just go down the hallway to the next studio where Sting is recording, drag him back to their session and have him actually sing the chorus! Then they give him a songwriting credit. Booyah copyright infringment avoidance!
