So the politicians are on TV warning about the 5.2m (downgraded from 5.5m), which is supposed to hit in a few hours. It would be about a meter higher than the current level, and definitely cause lots more damage. I've been looking at the data from the upstream gauges on both the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers, and I don't see it. It looks to me like the peak passed those gauges earlier today, and is happening in Brisbane right now. It may bump up slightly (well under 0.5m is my estimate) with the high tide, but I doubt it'll get much over 4.5m. Hopefully, I'm right, guess I'll find out when I wake up.
