interesting to hear Kelly say that they really weren't interested in picks because they have their own and they don't want to wait for those picks. He wanted warm bodies in return because he wants to be better next year.
I'd say this is a fairly even trade.

I am not a fan of the Hitmen so probably undervalue their players which might be why I would not think much of a guy like Mackenzie.
Macek is having a down year but has still shown that he has a lot of talent adding in the extra player for a guy that is likely gone next year seems more than enough.
Throw in the fact that Tri-Cities likely doesn't beat Portland with or without the trade and it is more than I would give up for a meh guy like Mackenzie.
