I'm pretty happy about buying a humidifier a few weeks ago. Wish I did it years ago. To anyone that is inexplicably tired during the winter: buy a humidifier for your bedroom. They're cheap, and once you get used to the hum, you'll be happy you got it. Not only do I sleep better, but my perennial (winter) battle against chapped lips has been won.
I bought a cheap $30 one from Crappy Tire, and I run it 24/7. If/when it breaks down, I'm going to buy one that I don't have to fill twice a day. I'll never sleep through another Calgary winter without a humidifier in my bedroom.

Had one instaled on my furnace and it has made a huge difference. No more nose bleed because the air is so dry. My skin doesn't dry out either.
