9 times out of 10 people need a motive to commit a crime, the entire nation is not chomping at the bit to go on a crime spree and only hold back because of the presence of police officers.
Police today mostly give out tickets and respond to domestic arguments while real crime like hard drug trafficking, organized crime and fraud continue to thrive.
There are some good hard working cops out there, but they are there to follow orders and nothing more. It doesn't help that buried in their ranks is a bunch of tits who harrass people and end up on youtube.
It is what it is. I know cities and police departments are always looking for more funding so this is what we get.

Are you really so naive that you think that without cops there'd be no crime? Well, I suppose you're partly right, because without cops, there'd be no way to enforce laws, and therefore, it would be useless to make laws.
I'd bet that 9/10 people would take a free loaf of bread from a store if there was no law telling people to pay for it. And since that is likely the case, there would really be no merchants selling anything. Seriously, Mikey. You can't honestly believe that society would function without police. Society and civilization would never develop without law and order.
