Fair enough on Phillips. Kubiak should have been fired though. He is an awful coach and makes boneheaded decisions. Texan fans had rallies to fire him. He is not a fan favorite in Houston.

I believe it was CNNSI but I read a great article on Kubiak and why the team always finishes 7-9, 8-8, etc. He mentioned that the team had taken on the personality of it's coach. In his playing days Kubiak was a solid backup that could come in, play well, and win when expectations were low but when the stakes got high he would faulter. Same with the Texans. They usually get off to good starts looking relly good like this is the year they will make it staying in the running until late in the season when they crater under the pressure of winning the critical games to make the playoffs. IMO he's similar to Norv Turner in that he's a really good OC but a medicre HC. Some really good positional coaches just aren't meant to preside over an entire team.
