Roberto Alomar was my first favourite baseball player as a youngster. With the help of my grandma, I wrote him a letter telling him how much I enjoyed watching him play, and included one of those little baseball cards of me playing for my tee-ball team.
In a few weeks, I received back a hand-written letter in broken english from Mr. Alomar, along with an autographed ball, an autographed card, and even my own tee-ball card signed by Alomar himself.
It was pretty cool. Really great to see him in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Roberto!
