2010 was very similar for me in most respects to 2009 except my financial picture is much more stable vis a vi cash in the bank, emergency funds, no debts other than mortgage etc. I have kept my spending in check after finally finishing Dave Ramseys books about money and as such I have purchased much less tech gadgets this year.

On the personal side of things it was a mixed bag. Still not married, I am dating someone but dont see that lasting long into 2011. My resolution this year is to try to truthfully evaluate the women I have dated over the last 7 years and see what has gone wrong for only 2 of them to have lasted longer than 6 months (13 and 15 months respectively). The reasons they ended were straightforward enough, 1 was I think my perfect match but didnt want to have kids and I did and I concluded that I didnt believe I could ever change her mind about that and the second was fantastic except for 1 fatefull dinner with her parents where her dad for some reason went on a rant against me that can only be described as odd where her and her mother just sat there in silence while he went on and on and on and she didnt say one thing to defend me. Normally I could care less what the parents think of me (most from what I can tell love me) but the fact that she just sat there and let him do that without saying one word was just unacceptable for me. The weird thing is she constantly calls me to try to get back together. After hitting 30 I am finding that the want to get married and start a family has started to weigh on me much more heavily than it did before. Hopefully not too late although 30 is difficult age to be single, its difficult to find single women in the age range who dont have some sort of baggage.

On the work side of things its fairly stable. I will try to finish the last to Microsoft certification exams I have left (I dont need them for work but if they are willing to pay for them if I pass I figure its something that will be great on a resume if I ever have to find employment elsewhere).
