I have both an LCD projection and a plasma. Both are great.
Don't buy a LCD tv though. They are overpriced and small. The only advantage is that it is energy efficient.
I'm still not sold on DLP technology though. Both the LCD projection and DLP uses a lightbulb that can be easily replaced(just a damn expensive bulb) but with the DLP you have the color spin wheel that spins at 9000 rpms. That can't be good in the long run.
One of the drawbacks of the LCD projection is that the black is not always black enough. I notice it on my LG but it doesn;t bother me at all. That Hitachi one Loosh bought is the probably the best one out there right now. I'd get that one now!
Oh and Plasmas have a life span. Once it starts to go, around 30000-40000 viewing hours you cannot fix it.
