For me its just a matter of saving some time. I don't have as much time to game as I used to, but still want to play some of the best games when I get the chance. I was thinking of just reading up on the plot of ME1 online somewhere and then jumping into ME2 since its the better game experience. I know its not the same, but still, if all you really need to know is the main plot, it might be good enough.
