I was a huge Shield fan. Was hooked after the first episode. The ending of the pilot shows you this is not your average cop show. I'm currently re-watching the shield and the show gets better and better as it goes on. And the finale, my goodness. Awesome. i can't say enough good things about the Shield.

My love for the Shield also turned me into a huge shield snob. I didn't wanna believe that the Wire was the better cop show. I didn't think it was possible, so I didn't even wanna try it. I heard so many good things about the Wire, I just had to give it a show. I wasn't hooked right away, but damn, was I glad I saw it thru. It's such a unique show and is so much different than the shield. In the shield, the show's main character is Vic Mackey and everything revolves around him. In the Wire, the main character is the city of Baltimore. You get to see Baltimore thru the eyes of the cops, the politicians, the dealers, the junkies, the troubled youth. Everything that makes Baltimore what it is. It's actually pretty sad when you think about it.

The Shield is awesome for many different reasons than the Wire. But both shows are amazing. I would just say that the Wire is more authentic and is the smarter of the two. That's not to say The Shield is a big steaming pile of fluff, it's not. There's great characters and stories. The shows are really different.

Never watched a minute of Fringe.

Currently watching Season 2 of Sons of Anarchy. I don't love it, but it has its place. I don't know if I can buy into the world of outlaw biker gangs. It's okay, but there's plenty of better options out there.
