Anyone been before? Is it fun? Age groups? Lots of young people or is this more of a middle aged event?

My biggest concern is getting home when it is done because getting a cab on NYE is usually impossible.

How far is the Carriage House Inn from the train? Pretty sure CT is 24hrs on NYE so I could take the train most of the way home if there are no cabs.
