Nope...not at all like real life... 
I think the only part I considered filler in the finale would be the whole brain scan part. That didn't explain a single thing. It was basically 5-10 mins of the guy explaining that after you die, you come back. Ya think? Also, surprise surprise, patient 19 is his wife! Wow that was unexpected *rolls eyes*
Other than that I thought it was great. Playing Bob Dylan at the end while they were fleeing was cool too.
