Look at Heroes, for all its cool premise and good effects it failed because the writers didnt know how to make a television show intresting as well as intelligent. If Walking dead follows the same course it could easily be cancelled.
People started watching this show because of the ZOMBIES... hell that is why i wanted to see it. If they deter from that too much than it will be cancelled.

I don't understand where you're coming from. People started watching because of the zombies and, last I checked, it's still a zombie apocalypse. The modern world has ended and doesn't look like it will recover. The show is a classic man versus environment premise and it is different than anything else on TV at the moment. It sounds like you want a zombie gore-fest, which this show will never be. Plus, if it was non-stop zombie action, most people would tune out (excluding males aging 12-22).
Maybe I'm alone on this, but I wouldn't classified LOST as a well written show.
