Inference as follows:
The BCS is a system that puts the regular season #1 vs the regular season #2.
If Auburn has their star quarterback then they are favorites to win the SEC championship, without him they are probably underdogs. Therefore assuming Oregon wins the Civil war the BCS championship could possibly include the Mid Major TCU if Auburn is without their QB. Which the BCS conferences likely would not prefer. The very connection of the Newton ruling and TCU can only be made through the BCS #1 vs #2 game.
