Hear hear! Even though I love this thread and always find a couple new bands/albums that end up being mainstays on my iPod, I often haven't heard of half the artists mentioned, or find their work quite a challenging/difficult listen for my novice ears.
However, aside from hip hop, when I explore other genres I sometimes like to be pushed out of my comfort zone and expand my horizons, and recommendations like the ones in this thread are a good starting point.
But I know what AC is talking about- for every LP I listen to that is on an ultra-indie-hipster (and I mean that lovingly, not condescendingly, haha) top 10 list that I can get down with, there are 2 or 3 that I just do not feel any attachment/connection to.
Kermitology- Shad's TSOL is a great album, will be on my list for sure. Hadn't seen that video, thx for putting it up.
