For hip hop heads it's an exuberant and daring album, and time will tell if it's the masterpiece lots of people are saying it is. Just wondering if it's as enjoyable a listen for people who don't go out of their way to listen to hip hop records.

I love good hip hop, and I think that Kanye's production and music is by far some of the best I've heard, but I cannot stand his "rapping" at all. He has no pace, no structure, no discipline. I hear some of his lyrics and he's clearly trying to be like Jay-Z in my mind and he fails so hard.
By far the best hip hop album of the year in my mind though is Shad's Tsol. That album is out of this world.
