I'm a fan of the comic, and if I had cable, I imagine I'd be a fan of the show. I just wanted to address this point.

That IS the point. The comics are not about the zombies, they are about how people react to such a massive change of everything they know. This is very much a "what would happen to an average person if they woke up to find the world a very, very different place."

I have to admit, I love the concept. I've seen tons of 'rah rah shoot them in the head' zombie movies (I am quite fond of Zombieland, for instance...) but this is a totally different direction, and it's one that I like, too.
