The question: Is Religion a Force for Good in the World?

The Pre Debate poll of the audience said no, it is not:
PRO: 22% CON:57%
UNDECIDED:21%
And 75% of those polled said they'd be willing to change their mind.

After the debate, the results of a second poll were:
POST-DEBATE
PRO: 32% CON: 68%

“This debate is not about the existence of God,” says Rudyard Griffiths, co-director and moderator of the Munk Debates.

“We have asked Mr. Blair and Mr. Hitchens to wrestle with the more immediate question facing developed and developing nations: Is religion a force for peace or conflict in the modern world?” he explained.

The Munk Debates are open to the public. The debate will take place on Friday, Nov. 26, at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto at 7 p.m. with a free public reception to follow.
