How am I trusting my life to that guy?
I know more about him than he knows about me. "He" doesn't even know my real name. "He" has the email address I give to potential spammers.
I understand the concern about "security", but if you aren't a moron, what can "he" do to you?
My real name, address and phone number are printed in a big book and delivered to every Telus customer in town every year. I also pay my bills, buy things with my credit card and exchange plenty of other personal information (including damning photos, private conversations) over my my regular internet connection every day.
I'm guessing you do the same, to some extent. Are you trusting your life to them?
