Hey, I agree with him on a few points.
People should look before they open their doors, and driving in the winter does take a lot of extra attention.

However, I just thought it ironic that (and this doesn't just apply to him) for the most part the guys with the the most stories about near misses, are usually the ones who also claim to be great drivers, and will argue to the death that things they do (like constantly speeding) are actually safer than what others do.

I've said it a million times in other threads, I'm usually over the speed limit too, but I don't delude myself by saying it's safer. I'm cool with just saying I speed cause it gets me somewhere faster.

But to mee it seems like this driving attitude/results reminds me of a lot of other things in life.

Usually at work the guy complaining about how everyone else is an idiot, is actually the guy who sucks the most at his job.

Usually the guy who complains the most about crappy service and stupid servers, is actually just an impatient jerk.

I wonder what that says about the guys who claim to be the best drivers, but seem to have way more close calls than the rest of us?
