Wild Return to Ice to Post Win
Nothing like a little mid-season break to give the batteries a chance to re-charge.
The Minnesota Wild looked like a revitalized bunch as they took to the ice to down the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2. The game featured a re-vamped lineup with rookie Milan Michalek drawing in along with the returning Keith Tkachuk. However, the story of the game was the young players of the Wild who led the charge.
Ryan Getzlaf opened the scoring with his 2nd goal of his young career. Jason Spezza followed that with a pair of goals 4 minutes a part before Alex Ovechkin replied for the Canes. The teams exchanged goals in the 3rd with Dan McGillis notching the games final tally for the Wild.
GM Grant Farhall commented on the win.
“The Canes are a team that always worry us but the team seems to get up for them. I felt that some of our veteran players were not strong tonight but our young players really had strong games.”
