The procedures in Canadian airports are not the same as those in the US, so your experience may not be reflective of the reality for the vast majority of people exposed to this new approach.
The bigger issue is the apparent tolerance for sexual assault, which honestly blows my mind.
'meh, whatever, what's a couple sexual assaults here or there every day at the hands of employees acting under government mandate?'
