So, if you have a teenager who tells you they need more allowance because they spend it all too fast, do you just give them more money; or tell them they need to budget their money?

I like the limited thanks. Look at the "Funny Picture" thread- I would probably thank at least 1/2 of the posts. But now when I see a 5 minute Youtube video with 15 thanks under it; I know it is worth my time.

Same goes for some very long posts; often if I don't know who the poster is I might just skip over the post. But then I see a whole bunch of thanks at the bottom; I may go back because I know it's worth a read.

Because thanks is limited; it means something. That also hopefully makes posters think twice about what they write- so if they make a good contribution maybe they will get a thanks or two out of it.
