While I am still a number of years away from starting a family, my thoughts is similar to how I would raise my kids with respect to religion, I'll give my son the choice
If I had a choice, I would have liked to not have it done to me, but I hold no ill will towards my parents.
I don't believe it's painless, as I have talk to nurses who performed the procedure. I don't have any religious linkage to having it done. I don't think the evidence is strong that there is a health advantage to it being done. In my opinion, it's a procedure based on tradition, the thought that everyone does it, and in some cases, aesthetics purposes. With that in mind then, I think it is the most fair to my son that he make his own choice on to whether to get it done or not, when he is of age to make such a decision.
