My thoughts:

1. I don't believe for a second that it "doesn't hurt that much." Babies aren't immune to pain. My guess is it hurts approximately as much as it would if it happened to an adult. Which means yes--it hurts. A lot. If you're going to have it done to your son, it should be with anesthetics.
2. I also don't believe there's any significant benefit to it. There may be some negative effects, but those are hard to measure because most guys have only one wang--so how do you measure things like sexual sensitivity? The other arguments for it are, frankly, silly.
3. However, it's also a bit odious to compare it to female genital mutilation (which I refuse to call "circumcision." Genital mutilation of females causes them a lifetime of pain and makes it impossible for them to enjoy sex. Male circumcision is probably pointless and causes needless temporary pain in infants. Let's not pretend that these are in the same category.
