I love self checkouts - except the ones they have at the Market Co-Op. Those U-Scan units are f'ing awful. Looks like it's running some bloody awful Windows implementation that can't scan faster then one item every 20 seconds - and if you brought your own bags you need the attendant to clear the screen every time you want to put a new bag down.

I have no issues with self-checkouts replacing people. It's a menial job - the people who get replaced can go find a far better job that actually uses their neurons.
