Seriously, I don't want your 6 cents. I understand the thought behind it. That all you are trying to do is round the money out, but think about it. Are you really expecting your credit card to be an even dollar amount at the end of the month? Are all your other purchases throughout the month going to round to the nearest dollar? No. So why not just leave 5 or 6 bucks?

Again, I don't mean to belittle your tipping strategy. Heck, I've even caught myself about to do it sometimes. But if it's cash you are paying, them yeah, of course your not going to stress over the pennies involved and you're just going to give an even dollar. But if you're paying via credit card just tip a whole dollar amount and leave the odd number cents in the total!

It even makes the math easier

I REALLY hate it when people bitch about this.

You are getting tipped, and in this case a very reasonable tip, do not bitch about an extra six cents. Imagine - complaining about MORE money! Must be a tough job.
