The Atlanta Thrashers came out of their chaloshes with a hard earned 5-4 victory over the Devils today. Brendan Shanahan, Zdeno Chara and Viktor Kozlov led the way with 2 points each. Patrick Lalime got back in the nets after giving newcomer Garth Snow a chance the night before.
The Devils came out fast and the Thrashers found themselves in a 2-0 hole 3:42 into the 1st period. The Thrashers had feasted on the weaker teams for quite some time and had simply taken the Devils too lightly.
Atlanta poured in 5 goals before the end of the 2nd period to take a solid lead into the 3rd period and hung on for victory.

Thrashers next game is tomorrow night vs the Capitals in the game of the week!
