I've never seen them or used them (my rink is about 16' x 24' so really doesn't seem necessary). I just have the edges framed with 2x12's and stakes driven in along the edges every 5-7 feet. I would guess that I spent a grand total of $50-60 for the materials?

Obviously for a larger rink you might need to take the step of buying these fancy braces...I have no idea. Seems pricey though?
